APAC Field Applications Engineer

NDC is currently seeking a Field Applications Engineer. Under the general direction of the APAC Customer Service Field Operations Manager, the APAC Field Applications Engineer provides support to NDC customers throughout India and Asia Pacific as well as provides second level support to other NDC locations. The Field Applications Engineer is required to travel throughout India and Asia Pacific to perform field service work at a customer site.

Desired Skills

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the industrial gauging or similar industry
  • Excellent customer relations
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral in regional language as well English with the ability to Techno-commercially communicate with the customer, Machine builders, vendors, employees and management
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, dependable, customer oriented, committed, focused, proactive and driven to deliver results
  • Experienced in process control and applications in the film extrusion, lithium ion battery, flexible packaging, calendaring, food and other related manufacturing industries
  • Project management coordination with customer and machine suppliers
  • Advanced customer service skills including problem-solving with the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives

Functions of the Job

  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and provides training to customers on complex process measurement and control equipment
  • Provides direct technical support to customers and NDC sales representatives
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout India on a weekly basis
  • Ability and willingness to regularly travel internationally on need basis with valid passport and travel documents
  • Maintains excellent customer and NDC sales representative relationships through effective support
  • Ensures timely and efficient installations, service, repair and preventative maintenance (Occasionally working after office hours and weekends based on need)
  • Maintains excellent record keeping and documentation
  • Drive and promote customer service product sales in the region
  • Consistently improves response times both on-site and via phone to all stakeholders
  • Timely and detailed reporting to NDC Management in English on the issues, progress, product failure, assistance, opportunities, feedback for product/service offering, revenue tracking, etc.
  • Works closely with marketing, product management and sales team to provide feedback and recommendations for new products, product enhancements, new development and competitor analysis
  • Compliance with local Spectris and NDC global policies and procedures
  • All other duties, as assigned

Desired Education

Associates degree in Engineering or Science
